THOUGHTS TO PONDER PART 1

THOUGHTS TO PONDER PART 1

1. Own Nothing: Brahman
Own Everything : Ishwara
Own Something : Miserable jeeva

2. There is no ” Pot Space” or ” Room Space ” because the pot & room are in Space. When the pot is destroyed, the pot space seemingly merges with the wall Pervading space. This is a delusion.

3. Chandokya Upanishad says : Association with the body is Samsara.
Disassociation with body is Moksha
There is no need for disassociation because it is a wrong notion & intellectual.
Eg: For a Gnani , say Ramana Maharshi, Headache or cancer is a biological problem. So he will be less disturbed because he is less body conscious. Moksha is dropping the notion ” I am the body” .

4. Atma is free of Relationships. Samsara is like a Banyan tree spreading over relationships. So basic or functional ” Abhimana” is accepted. Only strong abhimana( secondary relationships) leads to ” sorrow”.

5. Gnani is not an “hypocrite “. But is empathetic to situation. He stands apart from the body & sees the body exhausting the ” Parabda”. No complaints & regrets ,like the axle of a wheel. It is motionless. He is just a ” Witness”.

6. “I am” not only the ” observer” of the world but also the cause ( karanam). ” Aham Brahmasmi ” means non-dual. The world & me are one.

7. Mahabharatham is the biggest literature in the world containing one lakh verses.

8. ” Vanavasa” observed by our ancients is the modern-lockdown, required for deep contemplation & meditation. Let us practise ” Distancing” now & then to realise our ” Divinity”.

9. Resistance is sorrow. In this world opposite experiences are bound to be there, subject to arrival & departure. Rishis prescribe ” Titiksha” – Endurance to develop physical & mental immunity.

10. World does not come under existing or now existing category. It comes under seemingly existing category called ” Illusion” or ” Mithya”. The Mandokya Upanishad says, God creates the world through ” Maya Sakthi” ( Mithya).
E.g: Mirage – Water ; Rope – Snake ; Dreams

11. Dwaita ( Duality) is a stepping stone to ultimately reach the destination-” Adwaita” .( Non-Dual).

12. Obstacles of meditation: Sleep,Restless mind, Duality of mind, Tendency to seek temporary sensual pleasures.

13. If anything is a ” cause” , it is non-eternal”. Eg: Tree-Cause-Seed Father – Cause- Parents.
14. Waker to dream , you should go to the sleep state. You can never go to waker State from dream state.

15. Spherical form has all forms. Eg: ” Lingam” ( Shiva Lingam).

16. No creation is possible logically because matter cannot be created or destroyed.
17. ” Matter” in potential form can’t be used. “Oil” in the seed.

18. Human being has two Natures.

State Incidental Intrinsic
Waker State Eg: Anger, Lean, Fat, Poor Consciousness
Dream state Mind is introvert
( Memories)
Consciousness
Deep Sleep State Mind is dormant or passive Consciousness

Claiming of my essential ” I” is called ” Turiyam “. Intellectually you are separate from waker hood , dream hood & sleep hood & arrive at your intrinsic nature ( Consciousness). Thuriyam is free from sorrow of waker, dreamer & sleeper.

19. Illumination is “Asanga” = Thuriyam , free from the properties of waker, dreamer & sleeper.

20. Sleep is errorless ignorance = Advaitha.

21. Om Kara = All= Whole Creation.Truth of Om Kara is Truth of the Universe.

22. Deep sleep gives you a glimpse of Moksha. When you return to the waking state only , the past sense is registered not the present sense. In meditation you experience ” Moksha” in present sense unlike deep sleep state.

23. Sense pleasures are ” Law of Diminishing Return “.

24. External Growth is dependent on your Possession. Internal growth is dependent on your Dis-possession.

25. Unlike Brahman any object revealed has five criteria: a. Word; b. Species; c. Property ; d. Function; e.Relationship. Eg: Rose – Tree – Red – Carpentor – Father.
Brahman is Ekam beyond words.

26. Four Indirect methods to reveal Brahman
a. Using unreal Attributes
eg. Blue sky ; blue ocean ; Rising & setting of sun;

b. Non-verbal
eg: Elder son is intelligent. So the younger son’s nature is known without communication.

c. Incidental Attribute : eg: Crow sitting on a building. ” Illusion , Brahman is not part of the body.

d. Absence of Attributes :
eg: 4 glasses

(1)Water (2)Cococola (3)Tender coconut juice (4)Empty
Bring the empty glass.

27. Whatever is existing but cannot be experienced by you is SATYAM. The answer is ” Experiencer”. The Subject can never be objectified. All objects depend on the subject for their existence.Whatever timelessly exists is Satyam ( Infinite ). eg: Pot – Anithyam ; Clay – Nithyam
