For the past few months , people all over the world are preoccupied in fighting anxiety & depression. There are four great spiritual practices to alleviate pain & suffering.
Assimilation of the Advaitic (Non-duality) philosophy. The great Buddha said, one sharp arrow like “Corona virus ” can cause pain & sorrow. This is at the body level. The second arrow will cause a ” reaction within us “. If we accept this challenge, suffering & pain can be alleviated or subdued.
The scriptures reveal our ” Reality” as Infinite Consciousness, even the deadliest virus or tragedy cannot affect us. Advaita philosophy declares that no enemy can persecute or enslave us as we have a powerful sword called “Spacious Awareness” as a shield right from birth to death. Storms may come & go but we remain unaffected as we are of the nature of “WITNESS”.
The second practice is devotion & surrender to the Almighty God. Worship him at all the times & all the ways to tide over all the obstacles. This positive attitude is much stronger than any virus to free ourselves from anxiety & suffering.
Patanjali Rishi said that the human mind can think of only one thing at a time. So keep chanting divine names & pray to God as follows:
” O ‘ Lord ‘ give me the courage to change what I can ; patience to bear what I cannot & wisdom to see the difference between the two.
Focus on what welfare activities you can engage yourself to transcend pain & sorrow. Materialist will exclaim What ! Adwaitists will accept ” What is ” & say ” So what ? What next? “
